Kathmandu: A medical delegation from Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), a leading Israeli hospital in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics, is travelling to Nepal beginning 9 Sept until 16 Sept 2019.
(An obstetrician is a doctor who specializes in pregnancy, childbirth, and a woman’s reproductive system)-Ed.
The team comprises of 5 renowned Israeli senior doctors who will be visiting Dhulikhel Hospital, Bahunepati-outreach center of Dhulikhel Hospital and Siddhi Memorial Hospital, says a press note issued by the Israel Embassy in Kathmandu.
The major purpose of the visit is to expose the Nepali hospitals and its medical team to new life-saving technologies in the field of pediatric, obstetrics and gynecology, share their expertise, explain about the same so that they would be able to use the technology (equipment) and save lives of women and newborn babies upon donation (these life-saving equipment will be given to the hospitals). There will be a discussion about the possibilities of future collaboration as well, adds the Israel embassy press note.
According to the Embassy, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) is the largest acute care facility in Israel, treating about 400,000 patients and hosting 1.
8 million patient visits annually.
A 1500-bed world-class governmental academic medical center that it is, also serves the population of one million people including the residents from the greater Tel Aviv area and visitors to the metropolis.
The delegation of the hospital has travelled to other developing countries in the previous years with the mission to train local clinicians, implement the clinical practices and the advanced medical skills in the countries where the rates of pregnancy complications and maternal and infant mortality rates are among the highest in the world, concludes the Israel Embassy press release.
