The Oldest political party of Nepal, Nepali Congress, is about to land in a fresh trouble.
The concealed strategy has already been brought into action aimed at destabilizing the Party President, Sher Bahadur Deuba first and later stage a sort of coup d’état and finally take control of the party in the hands of those who form this alliance against SB Deuba.
The next President shall be decided by the general convention that is due.
The one point agenda is to kick Deuba out from the party as soon as it could be managed.
However, the party’s rules and regulations, or say the main Charter governing the party’s internal functioning perhaps doesn’t allow such a foul play and thus the process of rejecting Deuba from the current Chair gets distanced for the time being.
Yet the campaign to bid adieu to Sher Bahadur Deuba is in full progress.
In effect, some influential NC stalwarts who differ with the working style of the incumbent President have come together and almost formed an alliance vowing to rid the party from the grip of Deuba.
The accusation is readymade.
The party in general thinks that the last election debacle for the congress was simply due to the mismanagement and the unruly behavior of the Party President.
Deuba’s opponents also reproach him as to have failed to understand the UML tricks at time of the election which by seducing the Maoists center overnight declared that a unified UML and the Maoists center shall face the election.
While Deuba took the Maoists chairman Prachanda at his face value and remained confident that the NC will bag abundant seats after the polls in collaboration with the Maoists.
Deuba failed to understand that the Maoists Chairman Prachanda is a different political stuff and believed him that he would not cheat him at time of the polls.
But Prachanda was playing double, as he is smart in playing such acts, who sided with the UML in an unbelievable manner thus providing a severe shock to the NC more so to SB Deuba.
It was rumored then that some Indian sleuths had informed Deuba in advance that Prachanda was secretly planning to unify his almost “defunct” party with the UML, however, Deuba did not listen to the informers’ version and paid a very heavy price for the Party during the election.
The election results were not in favor of the NC as was expected.
A national level meet of the Nepali Congress party is shortly taking place in Hetauda on June 19, 2018, informs the Samachar Patra daily.
The senior leaders have decided to grill the incumbent Party President to the hilt at the Hetauda meet.
Deuba’s opponents are also certain to speak one-voice and that would be to prove that it was Deuba and Deuba alone whose mistakes committed at time of the last general elections caused the party to face the calamity.
A meet of the Party on April 29, 2018, had decided the Hetauda meet to be held on June 19.
Sources claim that “internal” lobbying against SB Deuba has intensified.
Has Deuba become a burden to the party?
