Kathmandu/Islamabad: The Ambassador of Nepal to the Court of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Tapas Adhikari, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Pakistan at the latter’s office in Islamabad, November 23, 2023.
Pakistan currently has a caretaker government headed by Mr. Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar who had taken oath of office as the 8th caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan, to recall, on 14th August 2023 whose prime job is to conduct the Parliamentary elections scheduled for early next year January 2024.
During the meeting, the two sides held a dialogue on various aspects of Nepal-Pakistan bilateral relations.
The two dignitaries also exchanged views on further expanding and strengthening the bilateral relations for mutual benefits.
Realizing huge potential in trade and tourism, the two sides also discussed ways to enhancing economic cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan-the two South Asian neighbors.
The Ambassador of Nepal Tapas Adhikari and the Pakistani Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani brought the SAARC regional body into their discussion and the regional cooperation.
The SAARC regional body is talked to have become the victim of Indian conspiracy.
To recall, Nepal is the current Chair of the SAARC regional body and Pakistan-the next Chair if and when the SAARC Summit is held.
The two bigwigs held discussions apart from the SAARC regional body on the upcoming COP28 as well.
