Some perverted brains in South Asia, more so in Nepal and India, have made it a point on how to damage the political credentials of China, the emerging super power, so that no country in the entire South Asian region dare to seek helps from China for fear of falling into the much publicized fake theory of Chinese debt trap.
India takes the lead in spreading such malicious fake news against China-its arch rival. Perhaps inviting a new punch a la Doklam.
However, one thing is sure and that being China so far has remained unable to assure the nations in the South Asian region and much beyond that its helps being extended to those countries in no way were “secretly” designed with a policy of what is being coined as “debt trap diplomacy”.
China is thus advised to assure the countries wherein the Chinese financial aid is pouring in at the moment or is to follow soon, for example Nepal, that China has not even thought of plunging the friendly nations into the debt trap but instead has a desire to share the benefits in a collective manner in the region or beyond.
Much is being talked of Sri Lanka and China ties.
The talks definitely are not pleasing one in that the things have been deformed to suit to the interest of the “concerned ones”.
China and Sri Lanka are committed to pushing forward cooperation on the Hambantota port project and realizing the goal of making Sri Lanka the logistics center of the Indian Ocean, said a
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Tuesday.
“This is not only conducive to the economic development of Sri Lanka, but also conducive to regional interconnection and the common prosperity of regional countries,” Spokesperson Lu Kang told a press briefing.
Lu made the remarks in response to allegations that appeared in U.S. media reports, which stated that China’s acquisition of the Hambantota port from Sri Lanka highlights its “debt trap” and ambitious use of loans to gain influence around the world.
China is the target being made by some high flying media that have some name and fame in the global market. They appear to have tentatively been mentally disturbed by China’s increasing role in the South Asian region and beyond.
The success that is being observed in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC project too may have increased the blood pressure of those countries and their tamed media who possess special hatred for China for some unknown reasons.
This could also be one reason among many, to cry foul against China.
Lu said such reports seriously distort the facts, which are either irresponsible or under the orders of people with ulterior motives, “We hope that the relevant media will not be keen on fake news.”
The construction of the Hambantota port is the wish of successive governments and people of Sri Lanka, said Lu, adding that China encourages its companies to cooperate with the Sri Lankan side according to commercial principles and on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, writes Xinhua news agency July 3, 2018.
“According to the needs of Sri Lanka, Chinese financial institutions have provided support to Sri Lanka in solving the financing gap.
Later, the Chinese side made efforts to adjust relevant asset allocation according to the wishes of the Sri Lankan side,” said Lu, noting that those arrangements will benefit the business cooperation between the two sides.
“If the fabricators of the so-called ‘debt trap’ cannot give the developing countries real help, they can at least take a healthy attitude towards the sincere cooperation between other countries,” said Lu.
The Indian media has already begun targeting Nepal and has been airing distorted news that soon Nepal will be in the Chinese debt trap.
Having said all these, yet Nepal must remain cautious while accepting Chinese loans or even grants.
In the meanwhile, there is a significant demand for skilled workforce in projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). In order to bridge the demand and supply gap, the CPEC Cultural Communications Centre plans to offer technical and vocational training to Pakistani students on a scholarship basis. This will help ensure that Pakistanis become skilled in different sectors of the industry, which will help them reap true benefits of the CPEC project. This training is what is known as the Talent Corridor Scheme has almost begun.
This news has just come close on the heels of what has been stated by one Indian national, a retired General Mr. Narayan who had said while talking to Ms.
Jeniffer Loy of the Nepal Matters for America June 26, 2018, that China doesn’t employ Pakistani nationals in CPEC projects.
Employment apart, China has this scholarship plan for the Pakistani nationals later who would work in the CPEC projects. Perhaps this explains the rest.
