N. P. Upadhyaya: The India-Pakistan face-to-face of February last month has kept hostage to the South Asian politics and by extension such a war like situation has scared not only the population residing in this part of the world dominated by India but has also scared the smaller countries of the region considering as to what would happen if the two nuclear countries press the nuclear button?
Modi’s extremism has already been registered carefully by the entire civilized men inhabiting this globe.
Though Pakistan for the smaller nations of South Asia is a political and nuclear deterrent, but yet the inhabitants of the region opine that wisdom must prevail on both the sides so that peace and stability remains here for all time to come.
But will it be so as desired by the common people?
A strong Pakistan is definitely a political deterrent which perhaps to a greater extent would be able to curb Modi’s erratic and repulsive political acts.
Early realization of this now established fact shall benefit the countries neighboring India-the terror exporting country.
Earlier the better.
However, Pakistan too should live up to the expectations of the smaller countries if it is really a political deterrent.
Pakistan is now an important element in existing South Asian politics which can’t be dismissed. A strong Pakistan perhaps ensures political stability in this region and beyond.
The situation is still tense in that matured observers opine that the feku Hindu PM Modi may once again attack Pakistan in order to win the already approaching polls.
Unfortunately Modi-terror continues in South Asia which is evident from what is being ventilated even by strong nationalists in India as the election dates approach.
Intellectuals in India fear of a possible communal riot if the terror on Muslims and the Dalits continue. And so the US experts have already predicted, to recall.
Earlier this month, the abrupt release of the four main suspects in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case has once again brought the Indian government’s commitment to fighting Hindu terror groups into question.
PM Modi has become synonymous to Hindu terror in South Asia.
The attack on the train also known as the “friendship express”, which linked India to Pakistan, left 68 persons dead. The majority of the victims were Pakistani Muslims.
Expressing her inner pains at the ever deteriorating situation in India more so in and around the Kashmir valley close on the heels of the approaching polls, Mehbooba Mufti-the former Chief Minister of Indian Occupied Kashmir said, 2nd April 2019, that “Unacceptable is that a new India where those who kill and lynch in the name of religion are feted and garlanded. If standing up for my people makes me a separatist and anti-national then it is a badge. I will wear (it) with honor”.
On a similar note, the Swedish professor of the Indian origin Ashok Swain has said in his recently published article “Why saffron terror is not a myth, the straight forward Swedish scholar questions that “Hindus can never be terrorist-Really? He then puts his claim to rebuke the Indian BJP’s statement that the Hindus can never be a terrorists, he then substantiates his version by saying, “The Tamil tigers were among the most dangerous and deadly terrorists the world has ever produced and they were the Hindus. In 1984 years before Al Qaeda’s anthrax attacks, the US was subjected to bio-terrorism by Rajneesh, a Hindu God man. This he has said through his Twitter account.
And by the same token, the Nepal Maoists who while residing in New Delhi as the Indian government’s special guest, had pounced upon Nepal wherein they-the Maoists-killed some seventeen thousand innocent Nepali civilians. The leaders of the most heinous attacks on Nepali nationals were two Hindus, Comrade Prachanda and Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai, who are by birth Hindu-Brahmins.
The Indian government led by the BJP leader Atal Bihari Bajpayee had seduced Nepal Maoists through Professor SD Muni and Security advisor late Brajesh Mishra to work seriously for safe guarding the political, economic and core security interests of the Indian regime, as was rumored then.
Later the Maoists were told to spread hatred against China in Nepal through some perverted brains in Nepali media.
Nepali Maoists who were Hindus stationed in Delhi then exported terror and disaster to Nepal. The rest is history.
Nepali observers are not sure but yet they guess that if the BJP once again wins the approaching polls, then India is sure to break into several pieces as PM Modi shall further tease the minority Muslims, Sikhs (those who have been demanding a separate State of Khalistan) and the Dalits and if these Indian nationals are pushed to the wall, chances remains high that they too would retaliate with Himalayan force whose net result would be the vertical and horizontal split of the Indian union.
There is a visible grand divide in between the Muslims and the Hindus in India.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee stated in a rally in Cooch Bihar that this could be India’s last parliamentary election.
Her statement has meaning underneath.
However, if the Indian Congress emerges with flying colors then chances are high that the Congress may give a new lease of life to the SAARC which is counting its last breathe.
The election manifesto just released by the Rahul Gandhi’s Congress on the eve of the polls says on Kashmir that “the Congress has long held the view that dialogue is the only way to understand the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir and find an honorable solution to their pressing issues.
The Congress, in its election manifesto has offered clear hopes of working with SAARC regional body to improve regional ties, something the Modi government was averse to.
“Congress will work with SAARC and ASEAN countries to enhance the volume of trade, investments, tourism and cultural exchanges and reap the benefits of geographical proximity,” the party manifesto released by Congress president Rahul Gandhi says.
The Congress manifesto doesn’t talk of the BIMSTEC. This is meaningful but pleasing to Nepal-the declared enemy of India.
However, Nepal has nothing to get elated by the manifesto of the Indian Congress. Whether it is the Congress or the BJP, Kathmandu awaits yet another blockade even if the entire political animals ruling Nepal were the declared men of the Indian regime who were hell bent on distributing Nepali citizenship certificates to the nationals of the country they serve or have been serving since 1990.
Some fringe communist leaders fear that the Sikkimisation of Nepal has already begun.
While Pakistan has been convincing the international community that the key to South Asian stability much depended upon the early settlement of the Kashmir imbroglio. Unfortunately, Nepali leaders take the Indian stance on Pakistan as their guiding policy. Unfortunate as it is.
This Pakistani commitment hints that the issue of Kashmir shall be kept alive for an indefinite period by Pakistan until this issue gets settled as per the aspirations of the people living in and around Kashmir.
Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari, a close friend of Nepal, has met in the recent days with the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani in Brussels.
According to international media sources, Thursday, Dr. Mazari highlighted also the gross Human Rights violations by Indian forces in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK). She also expressed concerns over growing Islamophobia in Europe.
Now back to our context.
If Modi wins the polls then the tension in between India and Pakistan shall further increase given Modi’s perverted terrorist brain and the SAARC shall die for sure. But if junior Gandhi is the winner then Pakistan may take a sigh of relief, speaking comparatively.
Pakistan has only the other day sounded that fresh talks with India shall resume only when India will have a new government after the polls.
While India is losing its prestige and popularity among the comity of nations due to PM Modi’s ‘Hug-plomacy’ then after the charismatic emergence of Prime Minister Imran Khan in Pakistan this country now is being taken by the friendly countries, mostly the Muslim nations scattered in different parts of the world, in a way that this country rightfully deserved.
Frankly speaking, PM Modi is no match to Pakistan Prime Minister.
They differ not only in academic qualities but also on how to behave with sovereign countries near and far.
While PM Khan is an Oxonian then PM Modi’s educational certificates are held suspect even by his own trusted nationals.
What a number one cheat and deceit is PM Modi gets reflected from the fact that he and his lapdog media’s claim that “one of its fighter pilots shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet in an aerial battle between the two nuclear powers in February 26, appears to be wrong. Two senior U.S. defense officials with direct knowledge of the situation told Foreign Policy, April 4, 2019, that U.S. personnel recently counted Islamabad’s F-16s and found none missing.
Few hours after a top news magazine exposed Indian lie that IAF shot down PAF’s F-16 fighter jet on 27th February, the Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor stated that it is time for India to speak truth about false claims and actual losses on their side including the second aircraft shot down by Pakistan.
But will India dare to do so?
The recent trip of several world dignitaries to Pakistan and the return visits PM Khan has made to some of the countries near and far, including Turkey, Qatar, the UAE and China, has definitely enhanced this country’s prestige over these months.
That Imran Khan has attracted the attention of the entire world gets substantiated by the fact from a fresh news published by the Express dated April 5, 2019 which talks that the former Ace Cricketer turned politician Mr Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) who rose to power after winning the 2018 elections in July has been adjudged as to have been the ninth popular leader in the present day world. Naturally Donald Trump is the number one.
After a political struggle in Pakistan of more than 22 years, the cricketer-turned-philanthropist-turned-politician has garnered a Twitter following of 9.4million people.
Statistics gathered by The Spectator Index have listed 12 world leaders in order of their popularity on Twitter. The Spectator Index displays statistics related to politics, economics, history, military affairs, sports, science and technology. Prime Minister Imran Khan has risen in popularity, emerging as 9th in the rankings.
After JN Nehru, PM Bhutto and King Mahendra of Nepal, PM Khan perhaps is the one from South Asia after decades and decades to have attained such a height.
Interestingly and most significantly the ranking puts Pakistan’s prime minister above King Salman, King of Saudi Arabia who sits at 7.3million followers, so writes Georgina Laud for the Express.
As of the foreign dignitaries’ visits made to Pakistan in these months, the most memorable one, say the media sources, has been registered to have been that of made by the octogenarian Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir.
Towering political personality PM Mahathir was invited as the chief guest at the national day celebrations of Pakistan last month.
Upon completion of the visit, the Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad had all the praise for the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force’s fighter jet JF-17 Thunder.
In his first TV interview following three-day Pakistan visit, Mahathir prior to his departure to his home said, “I know how strong the Pakistan Army is. It is very strong and the enemy will face defeat definitely.
Pakistan is now capable of manufacturing aircraft, the PM said and added that the performance of Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jet is the best and that Pakistani missiles can also carry nuclear warheads, he lauded the Pak defense capabilities.
Malaysia has expressed its interest in procuring JF-17 Thunder fighter jets and anti-tank missiles from Pakistan.
Before we conclude the write up, we wish to quote Farooq Abdullah, the veteran Kashmiri leader, of the Indian politics as it stands today. He made this statement last week which says, “I am 82 years old and have never seen the media so one sided that I have stopped watching the tv news except the bbc.
And here is Carin Jodha Fischer who wrote on her Twitter account on March 31, 2019.
She says, “I would say they accuse people of being paid agents when they run short of arguments. That and threatening you with physical harm.
We wish to conclude once again by quoting the Swedish Professor Ashok Swain’s few questions that has some logic.
He says, “Surprised that Indian media doesn’t ask for Balkot evidence though, 1) Pakistan denies any loss, 2) International media rejects India’s claim, 3) All satellite images negate India’s claim 4) not a single international strategic expert supports India’s claim. That’s all.
