Kathmandu, June 29, 2022: On the eve of 75th Year of Independence celebrations, the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Study Center organized “Socio-Economic Implications of COVID-19 Pandemic in South Asia; Emerging Risks and Strategies for Future” titled talk Programme at Hotel Ambassador, Lazimpat, Kathmandu on June 28, 2022.
The event was attended by people from different walks of Nepal’s social life that included educationists, politicians, intellectuals, social activists, journalists, writers as well as political analysts.
The aim of the event was to discuss the grave impact of COVID-19 on social & economic life of people of South Asia and measures to minimize the overall effects of pandemic for betterment of society.
During the event, the attending panelists highlighted the grave impact of COVID-19 in the South Asian region and suggested regional/ global cooperation to mitigate its effects on social, economic and cultural life of the common people.
They lauded the efforts of Pakistan government in tackling the pandemic in an efficient manner.
Addressing the event, H.E. Ambassador Syed Haider Shah welcomed the distinguished guests, panelist and highlighted that pandemic is not an issue of a single country but a global challenge which required regional & global efforts to make this world a safer place for our next generations.
