Biratnagar/Islamabad: The Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan His Excellency Shri Tapas Adhikari paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the latter’s office in Islamabad, April 12, 2023, says a press release issued by the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad today. .
During the meeting, the embassy press note says that Ambassador Adhikari and Foreign Minister Bhutto discussed various aspects of Nepal-Pakistan bilateral relations and exchanged views on further expanding and strengthening the relations, including enhancing economic cooperation and realizing huge potential in trade and tourism between the two friendly countries.
The two dignitaries also shared the views on regional cooperation and SAARC.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and the Embassy of Nepal were present during the meeting.
Back in Kathmandu, the new Pakistani envoy to the court of Nepal has freshly arrived to take up his new assignments in Kathmandu.
Since the Pakistani foreign minister too just has talked on the SAARC with Nepali envoy initiated his talks on the SAARC regional body, it is presumed here that the new envoy from Pakistan too will speed up his activities aimed at rejuvenating the almost dormant regional body SAARC when he meets the high officials from the host government.
The current Chair of the SAARC is Nepal and it is the turn of Pakistan to Chair the SAARC regional body, however, none of the countries housed in the SAARC regional body so far have dared to question India as to why it is ( read India) not allowing the SAARC regional body to resume its routine affairs?
