Kathmandu: The Nepal-Japan Education Dialogue hosted by the University of Tokyo was held today at Mid-west University with its support with more than 500 students participating in person and online.
Former MEXT scholarship students, Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh, Vice Chancellor of Mid-West University, Dr. Prabin Shrestha, president of JUAAN and Mr. Suman Dahal, joint secretary of Ministry of Finance participated the dialogue.
They explained, based on their own personal experiences, the significance of studying in Japan and the importance of taking what they learned in Japan back to Nepal for the country’s development.
Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Kyoto University of Advanced Science and Saitama University shared their respective programs for international students and we shared the MEXT scholarship procedure.
In his video message, Ambassador Kikuta expressed his pleasure at the resumption of the face-to-face opportunity for providing information about studying in Japan and encouraged the young Nepali students, saying that he looked forward to welcoming them in the future.
Although MEXT scholarship selection at the Embassy are already closed, the application and selection process at each university for admission in 2023 is currently underway. Interested students should check the websites of these institutions.
