Nepal-Japan Relations:
Kathmandu, June 8, 2022: The Ambassador of Japan to the court of Nepal, H.E. Mr. KIKUTA Yutaka, paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Army Staff of nepal, General Prabhu Ram Sharma today.
On the occasion, Ambassador Kikuta congratulated General Sharma in person for his appointment as the Chief of the Army Staff in last September.
The Ambassador welcomed the success of the local election held on May 13, 2022, and praised the Army for contributions to the preparation and operation of the nation-wide election.
Both side confirmed the necessity of the close cooperation in case of severe incidents or natural disaster.
Ambassador Kikuta also mentioned the contribution of the Nepali Army to the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations.
Ambassador Kikuta and General Sharma shared the views to cooperate further to expand the friendly bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Kikuta emphasized the long history of the tie between Japan and Nepal.
