Biratnagar: The Japanese University Alumni Association, Nepal Annual Program was co-hosted by JUAAN and the Embassy of Japan and many JUAAN members gathered in person on March 4, 2023.
On the occasion, two new members joined the JUAAN family.
One of them completed the MEXT scholarship program in Hokkaido University last year and returned to Nepal. We welcome the participation of newly returned alumni in JUAAN’s activities.
The Japanese Ambassador Kikuta Yutaka reiterated that JUAAN has been selected for the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for the fiscal year 2022 as a symbol of celebrating the 120th Anniversary of International Student Exchanges between Japan and Nepal, and that the award ceremony will be held soon.
He also mourned the passing away of Mr. Himalaya Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana, who was conferred the title of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star last year and was a supporter of JUAAN.
The year 2023 is JUAAN’s 50th anniversary since its establishment in 1973. We wish Self-Sufficient & Consolidated JUAAN continued prosperity and more active role, as a driving force for the development of Nepal and for the even further friendly relationship with Japan.
