Kathmandu: JUAAN hosted Japan seminar on December 3 in commemoration of 120th Anniversary of International Student Exchanges between Japan and Nepal.
In his speech, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Kikuta said, the “JUAAN, Japanese Universities Alumni Association, Nepal, is exactly the organization representing the significance of educational exchange of the two countries”.
He also mentioned the election observation by State Minister Mr. TAKEI Shunsuke and his courtesy call on The Right Hon. Mr. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Chairperson of the National Assembly last month, and Mr.
Timilsina’s visit to Japan this summer welcoming the friendship between the two countries that continues to this day.
Mr. Timilsina, the Chief of Guest, referred to Japan as a good friend, partner in economic development and cooperator in enforcing constitution and law. He also told JUAAN members that they could play a great role in nation building and policy making in Nepal with their knowledge gained in Japan.
In the technical session, three former MEXT scholarship students shared the struggles, efforts, achievements and future challenges of Japan on politics, economy and environment.
As the title of the seminar suggests, their presentation started with the Edo period, moved on to now in Reiwa era, and even the future challenges that Japan will face were shared. We hope that their presentations will be a source of inspiration and solutions for Nepal’s further development.
As a chair of technical session, Dr. Madam Kumar Bhattarai, former Ambassador of Nepal to Japan, praised the presenters and noted that Japan has been and will be an important partner for Nepal’s cultural, economic, technological, and political development.
We, at the Embassy, will continue to support JUAAN’s activities.
