Nepal: No End to Indian dadagiri?

Nepal: No End to Indian dadagiri?

N. P. Upadhyaya; Kathmandu: With the peace building efforts in Afghanistan in progress in the Qatari capital, Doha, yet another nation in South Asia has set the ball rolling by floating a conditional peacemaking formulae for ending the seven decades long India-Pakistan conflict.

Pakistan October 12, 2020, told its all-time adversary India that “let’s begin comprehensive dialogue” and sort out “our seven decades long debate” on “disputed” Kashmir issue.

In an interview to Indian journalist Karan Thapar (the WIRE), the Special Assistant to Pakistan’s Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Security Dr Moeed Yousaf said that his country desired peaceful ties with India and wanted to resolve all issues through dialogue.

However, he asserted that for any meaningful dialogue to take place between the two arch rival neighbors, India has to release all political prisoners in Kashmir, end inhuman blockade and restrictions, rescind domicile law that allows non-Kashmiris to settle in the disputed territory, stop human rights abuses and end state sponsored terrorism in Pakistan.

Dr. Moeed’s expressions in the form of preconditions have come well after Delhi’s keen apparent desire to resume talks with Pakistan.

But the official Indian sources claim that Delhi has not approached for talks with Pakistan in the recent days and months.

Anurag Srivastava, the spokesperson of Indian foreign ministry says “no such message was sent from our side”.

The question now is how a person of the stature of Dr. Moeed could speak that India wanted to resume dialogues with Pakistan?

Is it Hindutva supremacy? Perhaps yes.

During the course of the interaction with Thapar, Dr Moeed Yousaf emphatically charged that “Pakistan had enough evidence that the mastermind of December 2014 APS terrorist attack in Peshawar was in contact with RAW”.

Perhaps he was talking of the ghastly Peshawar school disaster wherein several minor students were killed by a fanatic group-the militants.

To a most serious question of Karan Thapar to Dr. Moeed on what the Kashmiris feel about India is another matter,” Moeed was quick to correct him as saying that,” If India thinks it has permanently changed the demographic and geographic status of the region and that is not against the UN charter then India is a rogue state.”

Dr. Moeed added that India used its missions in one of the neighboring countries of Pakistan to facilitate and sponsor terrorist attack at a five-star Hotel in Gwadar, Chinese Consulate in Karachi and the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

“India spent $1 million to ensure the merger of different TTP factions in Afghanistan,” Dr. Moeed added.

Dr. Moeed appears to have talked sense in that Nepal too has remained a victim of the RAW manipulations.

Bangladesh, as per scholar Zainal Abedin, his country is suffering from India’s incurable RAW disease.

Yet Nepal so far has maintained a studied silence on RAW infiltration for some understandable reasons.

The five set conditions from Pakistan will most likely be turned down by India-the gigantic factory of RAW, simply because India wants to prolong the Kashmir dispute by force and under the strength of its most brutal force in South Asia.

For observers in Nepal, peacemaking efforts whether it emanated from Pakistan or for that matter India, must be applauded and valued that it rightfully deserves.

Peace has no alternative, this is what Nepal believes.

For Nepal, both India and Pakistan are close neighbors plus the two South Asian nations are close and honored members of the regional body-the SAARC.

Though SAARC currently is counting its last breathe. India tentatively has killed SAARC.

With Pakistan floating its conditions for peace, so now the ball is in Indian court.

India should mend differences with Pakistan in the larger interest of peace in this part of the world that is South Asia.

The crude reality has been that Nepali politics has ever remained dominated and dictated by the Indian regime through its posted and paid agents in Nepal.

Pakistan on the other hand more or less is being viewed in Nepal through India’s “sponsored” lens which is unacceptable.

Pakistan is definitely weak in Nepal for multiple reasons. This country is not viewed in Nepal as a strong political and nuclear deterrent to India.

But the fact that it is a fitting nuclear deterrent to India.

In a fresh news on the internet October 15, 2020, claims that ‘one high official of Pakistan has urged the world community to work for peaceful resolution of the J&K dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council and wished of the Kashmiri people for durable p4eace and stability in the region.

This comes after Dr. Moeed’s preconditions set for the resumption of India-Pakistan dialogues.

Or else had it been not so then Nepal would not have invited or thrown Red Carpet welcome to the Indian Army Chief MM Naravne who for the strong Nepali nationalists is a persona non grata (PNG) and thus a sizeable chunk of the Nepali population opine that the undiplomatic, rouge and undisciplined Army Chief Naravne from India must not be allowed to pollute the sacred Nepali soil until he apologized for his insulting remarks made on May 15 this year.

To be sure, Naravne is the one who on May 15, 2020 ventilated on PM Modi’s instructions that “Nepal has been creating problems for India on the behest on China”.

This erratic and undiplomatic Military man from across the border does not deserve for the Nepali Honorary award because it would be a dishonor to the award itself he is being decorated early November by Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Isn’t it an insult of Nepal?

The Indian Army chief Naravne first should apologize for the rubbish remarks made on Nepal and China and if he does so then he be allowed to have this Nepali decoration.

For India, China could be an adversary, however, for Nepal, China is far better than India comparatively.

Nepal has some problems with China but not that of India’s magnitude.

The approaching visit of this unfriendly Indian gentleman (but is he a gentleman at all?) is being carefully watched by “strong nationalists” simply because he is coming to Nepal after few months of the Nepal government’s daring task of incorporating the India-captured Nepali landmass in the country’s official political and administrative map.

It was a moment of glory and satisfaction for the common Nepali population when Nepal regained its lost territories at least in the new political map.

Now when the lost territories are yet to come to its real owner, the Nepal government proving itself as if it were an “an extension” of the expansionist India is all ready to “garland” the India’s unruly person in its soil as if he is a champion for Nepal.

The fact is that India and its nationals can neither be friendly to Nepal nor to its people.

By inviting the Indian Army Chief for ‘investiture ceremony’ in Kathmandu, Prime Minister K. P. Oli has proved himself to be the true assistant of the Indian regime.

Is PM Oli an India bend political personality in Nepal as he is being taken?

It was not for nothing said in the recent past that Prime Minister KP Oli is more Indian than the Indians.

PM Oli has not rebuked this Nepali presumption.

It was this K.P Oli who became overnight India’s “super hero and star” when he reportedly contributed going down to a “shameful low” for the ratification of the Mahakali Treaty from the Nepali parliament which later proved to have only benefitted to the expansionist Indian regime.

Nepal thus got cheated by its own nationals, it was talked then.

And for providing tacit support to India during the treaty ratifications, K. P. Oli was granted “free treatment” to the Medanta Hospital, Delhi, for the repair of his damaged Kidneys which is perhaps continues to be in a spoiled state.

Perhaps Nepal Prime Minister Oli is paying the debt to the Indian Union for the help extended to him by the hawkish Indian regime.

Needless to say, it was the Mahakali treaty ratification time when Indian RAW agency deployed thousands of “agents” in Nepali politics including the vibrant media in Nepal.

A rough estimate says that as of now, some forty thousand plus RAW agents are operating in Nepal.

Most of the agents are reportedly centered in Kathmandu-the seat of Nepali politics.

Okay.

By inviting the Nepal hater Indian army chief MM Naravne, Nepal has admitted that the country is happy with such Indian highhandedness and coercions and that Nepal submits itself to the mercy of the popularly known as “Regional Scoundrel” once and for all.

In many more ways than one, November 2020 this year is going to be the “inauspicious month” for those who take India as the number one enemy of Nepal that India is.

It is interesting to note that when the Indian Army chief made buffoonery comments on May 15 teasing Nepal and insulting China at a time, Nepal’s Army Chief Purna Chandra Thapa kept himself aside as if his “motherland” was not insulted.

But isn’t Thapa a creation of this sacred soil? Hasn’t he taken birth in Nepal?

What was given to understand later that “the Nepal Army need not to make any rejoinder?”

Thus the matter was kept under the carpet and the nationalists’ population have had to gulp the insult-syrup.

In fact Nepal Army Chief maintained a studied silence which is puzzling in many more ways than one.

The common people in Nepal expected that Army Chief Thapa would at least make some remarks on behalf of poor and India oppressed Nepal and its population.  But he summarily ignored. This must have some meaning underneath.

The Indian Army Chief is arriving Nepal when his apology remains largely a due.

A press statement issued by the Nepal Army institution dated 14 October, 2020 says that “the visit of the Indian Army Chief MM Naravne was already fixed by Nepal government in the month of February this year”.

Even if invited, the Indian Army chief himself should have felt the need to apologies to which he has not made as of today.

This means that the Indian Army Chief Naravne represents a regional bully and that he has the right to speak anything under the sun.

This is callous and ridiculous.

That India is a regional bully gets testified from the way the Army Chief is arriving Nepal without having a feeling of guilt.

But how he will face the nationalist Nepalese?

The climax is that the one who has insulted Nepal to the hilt through his rough and tough remarks is to receive one of the highest honor of Nepal that he perhaps doesn’t deserve.

M. Naravne is an unfit Army personnel to receive the “honorary Army Chief of Nepal”, this is the common belief in Nepal.

His decoration is said to be in in accordance with a tradition of friendship between both the armies.

The fact is that this is unequal friendship and that nothing is “special” and “unique” in the friendship of Nepal and India.

The fact is that such traditions must be scrapped. Earlier the better.

India at best has been exploiting Nepal in the name of imposed “special relationship”.

Nothing of that sort exists. India is just a friend.

This explains what India is for the South Asian nations and yet the gang of four of India disseminated that “India is to reset its ties with smaller neighbors”.

Thanks that the Nepali foreign minister Gyawali demanded changes in 1947 UK-India-Nepal Agreement to review the terms of the Gorkha employment in the Indian Armed forces which has in fact saved India from a total collapse.

Had the Gorkha soldiers not been in the Indian Army, the Indian nation would have split into several pieces.

The fact is that when India’s war is with China or for that matter Pakistan, India sends the Gorkha soldiers to the war fronts wherein the Chinese and the Pakistan armies get embarrassed to confront the friendliest Gorkha youths from Nepal.

Yet the ungrateful nation refrains to thank Nepal-the source of Gorkha brave soldier.

Nearly 40, 000 Gurkhas serve in seven regiments of the Indian Army. It is time that Nepal government abandons selling its youngsters to the most ungrateful nation. The same should also apply to the United Kingdom.

Selling of youngsters should be taken as a crime.  The treaty must be made null and void.

M.M. Naravne is purposely visiting Nepal on November because it is this month last year that India issued its political map which officially “gulped” Nepal’s landmass in the West.

Reports say that India has been inviting its nationals to reside in the India occupied Nepali lands thus hinting that it is all set to change the demography of the India plagued country.

Funny part of the whole story is that “M.M. Naravne is likely to visit the Multipath temple” in Nepal.

“Sau Chuhey Khakey Billi CHali Haj Ko”.

In the meantime, Nepal Prime Minister K. P. Oli appears to have once again submitted himself to the mercy of the India’s Hindutva gang by effecting a minor reshuffle in his cabinet.

PM Oli has forcefully “removed” Ishwar Pokhrel from the Defense ministry.

Minister Pokhrel appears to have been detached from the defense ministry under the Indian instructions as Mr. Pokhrel at times made scathing comments on India in the recent past.

He was one of the vocal critics of India in Oli’s cabinet.

How Minister Pokhrel reacts to his “humiliating exclusion” from the cabinet is yet unknown but is expected to hit back sooner than later.

To date Narvane has not visited Nepal following his appointment as the 28th Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army on December 31, 2019.

All in all, Nepal once again appears to have yielded to the Indian hegemony associated with binding dictates.

“The timing of the arrival of the Indian Army Chief is strange and in all likelihood, Nepal Prime Minister Oli will greet General Naravne in his capacity of the Defense Minister”.

This perhaps explains as to why Ishwar Pokhrel was shunted from the Defense Ministry.

Now it remains to be seen as to which Nepali map (the revised one or the old one) is pasted on the walls while Indian Army Chief meets Nepali dignitaries?

He gulped Nepali territory but yet he is being garlanded in Nepal. Unacceptable.

Coercion, bullying, dadagiri and hooliganism is thy name India. That’s all.
