Political decay of Nepal PM Oli is inevitable. His love and honor for India has bounced back to the utter dismay of the population who have been watching his changed behavior towards the Indian establishment with disgusting curiosity.
But a deaf and dumb population can do nothing other than to endure the humiliating changed attitude.
The Maoists stayed in Delhi for almost a decade and thus earned the Indian blessings. However, Oli without having spent even a week in India has become fortunate enough to have bagged Indian exaltation. India has thus reasons to salute Nepal PM Oli for all the considerations he has planned for the visit of the Indian PM Modi in Nepal.
But yet he has embarked on a path that finally betrays the nation, Nepal, for his present increasing hobnob with the Blockade Expert Indian Prime Minister Modi that is not only damaging his once hard earned “pro-independence credentials” but also distancing himself far from the presumed reliable and trusted partner in the North-China.
China wants to help Nepal much the same way Beijing is engaged with Pakistan through the CPEC projects.
China is also thinking to bring into existence China-Nepal Economic Corridor, CNEC.
But neighboring North has now every valid reasons to suspect the very lip service of Nepal PM Oli that he prefers the Chinese help in order to lessen the Indian over dependency of Nepal. Modi and Oli appear to have become inseparable ones, like the born twins, looking at the manner Oli has become suddenly active in welcoming the Blockade wallah- his distant and dangerous brother proven by deeds.
That means Nepal is losing some more Rivers as usual. Arun-3 is sure to be gulped by India this time when Modi come here. Such views have already been made public by Dr. Prakash Lohani and water resources expert Dipak Gyawali.
A day may come soon when we the Nepali people shall have to ask for the Indian favor for even a glass of water. The chances of this remain high. Nepal is already under Indian meticulously crafted trap envisioned by Madame Indira Gandhi when she was kicking and alive.
Nepali observers remain askance as to how this uncompromising nationalist political personality has changed himself to become the closest friend of the Indian expansionists currently under the control of PM Modi? Why is this U turn? And what shall be the cost of this sudden change of heart that mother Nepal shall have to necessarily pay? Rivers only? No way. Nepal’s vibrant media that is sympathetic to the regime across the border more often than not shall find out what Nepal is going to lose for sure.
However, for this scribe who had very closely observed UML leader KP Sharma Oli’s extra energy and vigor with which he brought his entire party to vote for the ratification of the Mahakali Treaty in the Nepali parliament long time back, it is no surprise that KP OLi should now serve the same regime across the border with the same bravery and forte in order to pay the debts of Medanta Hospital service that perhaps the present day Nepal PM received then all for free in Delhi then.
Unfortunately KP Oli is a Kidney impairment patient since long, as analysts have been told.
So nothing to panic and that Oli’s nationalist credentials were all a façade and for a short period and now that when he was reminded of the Medanta treatment by the hosts, Oli came back to his senses and began exhibiting his past love and honor for the Indian establishment with which he had allowed the Mahakali treaty to be ratified by the Nepali legislator.
Pasupati S Rana was the second energetic political personality who backed the Mahakali Treaty tooth and nail.
The third political persona to have enjoyed the said treaty ratification was late Rabindra Nath Sharma. And the third one was, as I recall, Mr.
Hridayesh Tripathi.
KV Rajan was the Indian Ambassador then posted in Nepal when the Mahakali treaty was being ratified in Kathmandu. So the Indian envoy knows better than what this scribe had observed by being outside the dirty politics of Kathmandu which always revolved around the Indian swings.
Indian PM Modi will have two civic felicitations at two different places of Nepal, first in Janakpur, the birth place of Goddess Sita Maata, and the second one in Kathmandu and that too in the name of the Nepali population who love to hate the Indian guest who is landing in this “sacred land”.
Two civic functions shall await PM Modi when he lands in Nepal. However, the Interesting part of the whole story has been that the people hate PM Modi instead what is being unfortunately planned for him in Nepal.
(As a normal Indian guest Modi is most welcome in Nepal but the Indian PM is not).
Total submission of Nepal PM Oli has degenerated the national pride and honor of a Nepal whose heads remained ever high as the Himalayas even under treacherous periods in the past, if one were to recall.
That PM Oli would go down so low and become so feeble had not been in one’s imagination even looking at the manner he has steered the country at time of the merciless Economic Blockade imposed by talkative PM Modi on Nepal.
Oli’s smart dealing with the friend in the North that time was simply praise worthy.
But the way Oli has submitted himself to the mercy of the Indian PM Modi is a matter that has not only insulted the majority of the population but also is sure to leave a permanent scar on the very face of mother Nepal.
Nepal PM Oli is thus advised to clarify his inner compulsions, if any, or should now think of quitting the post and save his prestige so that he can live a happy life back in Jhapa-his mother soil.
Oli’s government has freshly allowed the Kathmandu based Indian embassy to spend as much as five crores of rupees in any projects of the embassy’s preference and liking anywhere inside the Nepali territory.
Such foolish acts are sure to build small pockets of Indian constituency inside the Nepali landmass which shall definitely be somewhat loyal to the Indian dictates and sermons for Nepal.
Thus loyalty shall stand divided. Time permitting the alien say will increase a la Sikkim. Unfortunate that it is. The evil design is now predictable.
Or is it that Nepal PM Oli is playing a dangerous game with India? It could be.
