Kathmandu, 18 September: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended birthday wishes to his Indian counterpart Narendra Bhai Damodar Das Modi in three different languages.
This explains his preference for the BIMSTEC over the SAARC and the BRI.
Had PM Oli been versed in Chinese language, he would have certainly tried but alas.
He must have been in pains.
Oli has extended the message to PM Modi via Twitter.

He has used English, Hindi and Gujrati languages while extending birthday wishes to Modi.
Analysts in Nepal have been taken aback when they were made to understand that Nepal PM Oli had good command in Gujrati language-an Indian dialect spoken by the Gujratis like PM Modi.
“Heartiest greeting to Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modiji on your auspicious birthday.
I wish for your good health, happiness and well-being,” tweets Oli.
“We will continue to work together for further consolidating multifaceted Nepal-India relations,” Oli has written. This he has written in English language.
Modi has just observed his 69th birthday on Tuesday September 17, 2019, reports Indian media agencies.

The Nepali Ambassador posted to Delhi, Nilambar Acharya too has extended warm greetings to Prime Minister Modi as if it were a day for the entire Nepalese to celebrate the occasion.

In a shameful assertion Nimalbar tweets (in Hindi), “…you are a world acclaimed statesman, you are respected, you be healthy, happy, successful,” and finally adds, “Please accept our loyal salutations.”
Narendra Modi as a friendly gift to the people of Nepal in the aftermath of devastating earthquake had imposed a six months long Economic Blockade in the year 2015.
Perhaps after his retirement Ambassador Acharya will prefer to permanently stay in India than returning home to Nepal.
What will Acharya in return get from New Delhi for his subservience will have to be watched in the days ahead?
