Diarrhoea kills six in Jajarkot: Nepal Army rescue operation begins
Six more people have lost their lives in Jajarkot district of Nepal on Saturday, July 11, 2009 due to the Diarrhoea outbreak.
In the last three months period, around 110 people have already lost their precious lives in the districts of Jajarkot and Rukum.
Preliminary investigation of the outbreak has suggested that a bacteria known as Coliform has been found in the drinking water in the affected areas.
In the meantime, the Nepal Army medical team has begun treating the diarrhoea affected people in the districts.
Nepal Army helicopters have also air-dropped medicines in several villages affected by the diarrhoea outbreak.
The Nepal Army Chief General Rukmangad Katawal landed in Jajarkot and Dailekh on Saturday, July 11, 2009, to observe the treatment being carried out by the Nepal Army medical team.
Diarrhoea affected Villages:
Jajarkot: Sakla, Nayakbada, Ramidanda, Punma, Karkigaun, Jhapra, Bhagawati, Laha, Pajaru, Suwanauli, Katteding, Thalaraikar, Jungathapachaur, Salma, Garkhakot, Achini, Talegaun, Dasera, Punma and Suwanauli VDCs.
Rukum: Gotamkot, Purtimkada and Magma VDCs
Salyan: Mulkhola and Syaukot VDCs
Dailekh: Jaganath and Katti VDCs
