Nepal appeals China for support to three projects

TGW

The Government of Nepal has decided to make a formal appeal to the “all weather friendly” neighbor in the north-China for subsidized loan assistance for the construction of three mega projects in the country.

Sources at the ministry of Finance have it that the loan assistance will be used for the construction of three significant projects in the country.

“The government plans to construct Regional International Airport in Pokhara, Nousalya Ghat Hydro Power Project-400 MW, and Road infrastructure connecting district headquarters of Jajarkot with the Chinese support”, sources at the Ministry of Finance disclose.

Nepal’s foreign ministry sources also hope that since it will take up the fresh Nepali requests in a positive manner.

It is estimated that the three projects will cost amount worth 1 Billion US dollar.

Earlier, the Nepal Government had requested the Chinese government to provide loan assistance worth 12 Crore US dollars to construct Upper Trishuli-A Hydropower project.

The Nepali request to the Chinese side is being made close on the heels of the Nepal Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal’s visit to India.

Yet another headache for the Indian regime.
