Nepal New Constitution victim of political wrangling: Khanal
The Chairman of the United Marxist Leninists Party, UML, Mr. Jhala Nath Khanal has admitted that the constitution drafting process has become a victim of the wrangling in between the major political parties of Nepal.
He said that the process of drafting the constitution within the allocated time frame is becoming more and more difficult due to the growing differences in between the political parties of the country.
He also warned that any drift in the final schedule of the Constitution Drafting will invite disasters for the country.
The UML chairman made these remarks at a program held in Butwal, Rupandehi district, September 9, 2009.
“The Rightists have been conspiring to divide the major political parties of Nepal and that the Maoists’ extreme leftist mindset is also to be blamed for not abiding by the politics of consensus in Nepali politics”, Khanal said.
Mr. Khanal had earlier in the week predicted that Constitution Drafting delay could invite military rule in the country.
