Restore Civilian Supremacy in Nepal: Maoist leader

TGW

Ganesh Man Pun, the chief of the Young communist League (YCL) said if Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, the first President of the Republic, does not retract from his earlier unconstitutional move, the Maoists’ party will write the new constitution right in the streets with blood.

The YCL is a Unified Maoists’’ Party offshoot.

“We will be left with no option than to draft the constitution with our blood in the streets”, he threatened.

He also demanded discussion at the CA for the unconstitutional decision of Dr. Yadav to re-appoint the Maoists’ led Government sacked former Chief of the Nepal Army Rukmangad Katawal.

He was addressing a gathering in Beni of Myagdi district, September 9, 2009.

He said that the Unified Maoists’ Party led protest program were to liberate the Janajatis, Women, minorities and Dalits.

Unless civilian supremacy restored in the country, permanent peace is impossible, said Pun.
