Committees galore, Nepal deadlock remains intact

TGW

The Nepali Congress and the United Marxist Leninists’ Party have decided to constitute a committee which will have the specific right to find solution to the current deadlock over the parliamentary proceedings.

The process of the formation of committee has begun.

The Nepali Congress and the UML- the major constituent of the incumbent coalition government, leaders met at the Everest Hotel in Kathmandu, September 26, 2009 to find solutions to the current political crisis.

According to the decision made on Saturday, the working committee comprising of the senior NC and UML leaders will hold discussion with the parties represented in the Constituent Assembly including the Unified Maoists’ Party.

The meeting also concluded that the Maoists have become flexible to some extent, to solve the current political dispute but the Maoists’ need to become more flexible in the days ahead.

The rest apparently the new committee will decide!

Ram Chandra Poudel, the Nepali Congress leader of the Constituent Assembly Delegation talking to the press said that the meeting mainly discussed various ways to end the Constituent Assembly deadlock.

He was hinting at the fact that the committee in the pipeline will find amicable solution to the current political deadlock.

“We have agreed to form a committee that will have the responsibility to find ways to end the current deadlock to draft the constitution on time”, Mr. Poudel told the media.

The parties engaged in the meeting have perhaps agreed to agree for the constitution of a committee. No less an achievement indeed.

“The meeting also urged the Maoists to abide by previous agreements and exhibit flexibility”, Mr. Poudel added.

The committee yet to be formed will perhaps press hard the Maoists to become more flexible. This explains the need for yet another committee. Grand idea indeed to sort out the disputes! Committees galore!

The meeting was participated in by the NC leaders, Ram Chandra Poudel, Prakash Man Singh and Bimalendra Nidhi and Bharat Mohan Adhikari, Pradip Gyawali, Yub Raj Gyawali and Keshav Badal represented the UML.

Bimalendra Nidhi told reporters that after the Dashain Festival, meetings at various levels both bilateral and multi-lateral will be called to discuss ways to end current deadlock.

This does mean that after the festivals, several committees will come into action. Great accomplishments could be expected after festivals.Posted on : 2009-09-27 08:43:32

we nepali pople never ever trut o this maoist demands and this terrorist cn not be trusted. NC must stand against this entire demand and if NC bow down with this maoist the there will be terrorist state and the aoist will capture the state soon. And new army COAS must be against the wholesale ary integration and if catraman grung bow down withmaoist and if he goes close to maoist side like KB Khadka then chnatraman mustbe removed from the post to save the whole 95000 nepal army. We urge NC leaders not to meet all maoist-terrorist demand at any cost and these terrorist leaders must be killed and must wiped out now.
