Dinner Diplomacy begins in Nepal, Issues Remain Intact

TGW

After Tea Party diplomacy failed in Nepali politics to untie the current deadlock, beginning July 7, 2009, the brilliant idea of having Dinner Diplomacy now appears to have taken roots in the minds of the Nepali leaders who have themselves created this deadlock.

K.P. Sharma Oli, the former leader of the proletariat now turned a feudal gentleman organized a lavish Dinner at his privately owned citadel located in the outskirts of Kathmandu, November 3, 2009, wherein Nepal’s destructive top politicos who are primarily responsible for making the country hostage of their arrogance, were all invited.

The leaders, reportedly, once again committed themselves to end the current dispute by garnering consensus at the highest level.

“A new understanding would be reached shortly to end the current dispute that will pave way for the logical conclusion of the peace process and timely draft of the new constitution”, reports quote the leaders as saying.

The dinner which was participated in by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal also saw the presence of Unified Maoist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice chairmen Mohan Baidya Kiran, Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai and Narayan Kaji Shrestha alias Prakash and Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader of the Parliamentary delegation Mr. Ram Chandra Poudel.

Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat was also present to grace the dinner.

The intriguing part of the dinner was simply that K.P. Sharma Oli, the senior UML leader had organized the event on the same day the UML chairman Mr. Jhal Nath Khanal left for a week long New Delhi pilgrimage to pay his tribute to local Indian deities.

Ishwar Pokharel, the UML leader considered close to the party chairman Khanal was also present at the meeting cum dinner.

Said Pushpa Kamal Dahal “the parties have agreed to solve the political dispute amicably”.

Leaders of other political parties told the media that the Maoists’ exhibited utmost flexibility to end the dispute during the dinner meeting.

“We found the Maoists positive towards ending the parliamentary deadlock and appeared willing to approve the budget and thereafter demanded that their demands be addressed thereafter, said Ram Chandra Poudel.

“The Maoists had the fear that other parties were conspiring to wipe them out of Nepali politics”, Poudel added.

Similarly, Narayan Kaji Shrestha alias Prakash of the Unified Maoists’ Party told the media that discussions have begun as regards solving the dispute was concerned.

“We will continue the discussion until we arrive at an all satisfying solution”, Shrestha also said.

In contradiction of what Poudel said, the Maoists’ vice chairman Mr. Shrestha made it clear that their demands should be addressed prior to approving the budget by the parliament.

He said, “If our demands are met with, the political dispute will end immediately.”

If anyone sells maoists then it is no other than Prachanda. He has kicked all the achievments made by matyrs , sometime seen sniffing around Koirala's residence and at other time found barking inside embassies' compound . He is to be ousted from the post of party president. His lust for chair has really demoralised all freedom fighters who are fighting to free nation . He is to be kicked out from the party. No option left
