International Community favor National Govt in Nepal: Prachanda

TGW

Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda, the Unified Maoists’ Party Chief talking to journalists at the Bhadrapur Airport, Jhapa District November 4, 2009, said that the foreign diplomats residing in Nepal are of the view that peaceful protests in a democratic order was a normal phenomenon.

Mr. Dahal was referring to his fresh meet with the envoys of EU, Russian Federation and the US Charge d’ Affaires while talking to the journalists.

“They have expressed their keen desire to continue support to the Constitution Drafting Process and the ongoing peace process”, said Mr. Dahal quoting the foreign envoys.

Dahal also told the media men that even the International Community was in favor of the formation of the National Government.

“The United Nations’ Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon while submitting a political proposal at the Security Council had favored a National Government in Nepal”, Prachanda said adding, “We share similar views.”

“Mr. Moon’s views are not his personal one for he represents the International Community,” Prachanda added.

On Tuesday, November 3, 2009, one of the aides of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Raghu Ji Panta had said that Moon’s remarks as regards formation of the National Government in Nepal tantamount to foreign interference.
