Triapthi interferes in Nepal’s internal affairs, claims India will not

TGW

D. P. Tripathi, the General Secretary of the Nationalist Congress Party, India has advised the Maoists’ Leadership to concentrate on drafting the Constitution.

He said with the timely drafting of the Constitution, Civilian Supremacy will be restored automatically.

Mr. Tripathi, whose view on Indian Politics rarely gets covered by the Indian Media, has fortunately been able to grab headlines in Nepal’s highly circulated newspapers, dated November 28, 2009.

This non-entity is a big man and is highly adored here by a section of Nepali leaders.

“Timely drafting of the Constitution is itself equivalent to Civilian Supremacy”, said Tripathi at a press-meet organized by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu.

Reportedly, Mr. Tripathi has been jointly invited to visit Nepal by Nepal’s Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and several other high ranking leaders. This does tell importance of Tripathi in Nepali politics.

Mr. Tripathi, who is also the coordinator of Nepal Democracy Solidarity Group based in New Delhi has already met with Nepal’s top leaders, it is learnt.

The New Delhi based Nepal Democracy Solidarity Group is mainly involved in provoking anti-China and anti-Myanmar activities in Nepal.

Mr. Tripathi in the course of his speech also says that India has never interfered in Nepal’s internal matters and had no intention whatsoever to interfere in Nepali matters in the future.

“Making and breaking of the governments in Nepal are its internal matters” he said adding, “India does not want to interfere in such matters.”

However, Tripathi seemed to have forgotten that when he advised the Nepali leadership to concentrate on drafting the Constitution rather than focusing on matters pertaining to Civilian Supremacy, he had willingly interfered in Nepal’s internal matters. This brazen interference.
