Stop junglee behavior: Nepal-Maoist told
Sushil Koirala, an old Nepali Congress horse who can barely walk on his own has in a threat loaded statement said that the Maoists’ are nearing an end if they continue to ridicule and ignore the politics of consensus.
Koirala made these remarks while addressing a press-meet in Rukum- taken as the heartland of Maoists’ rebels in the not so distant past, February 1, 2010.
The press-meet was organized by Nepal Press Union- NC tilted journalists’ organization.
He also urged the Maoists’ to shun junglee behavior and embrace the politics of consensus.
“It was the Nepali Congress that brought the Maoists’ from jungles to Kathmandu”, Koirala reminded.
However, junior Koirala did not mention that the Maoists indeed came to Kathmandu but via New Delhi. Naughty junior Koirala!
Koirala also warned the Maoists to refrain from making Nepali Press as their prime targets. Though he did not mention which section of the Nepali Press he was referring to. The NC tilted press or the UML tilted one?
The Maoist’s attack on the media will bring their downfall ultimately”, Koirala concluded.
