Nepal-Maoist chief all praise for Chinese Development

TGW

The Unified Maoists’ party Chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a Trade Fair organized in Butwal, Rupandehi District, February 5, 2010, said that his party will never accept the proposal for PLA integration prior to the drafting of constitution.

“It is a grand conspiracy to vacate the cantonments first and draft the constitution later”, Dahal said.

“If the ruling coalition is certain to draft the constitution on time then the drafting and integration process must go side by side”, he said.

He was also of the opinion that if parties fail to draft constitution on time, we can all sit together and decide to extend CA tenure in consensus.

“We are still rigid on our demand for restoration of Civilian Supremacy and guaranteeing National Independence”, he said adding we will not retract from our demands for the sake of joining the government.

He reminded the attending crowd visiting the trade fair that the movement for National Independence in Nepal began right from the days of Bhakti Thapa and Bhim Sen Thapa.

However, he said the movement continued until the days of Madan Bhandari but it did not succeed.

“Our party has once again raised the national issue and we are certain we will succeed ultimately”, Dahal assured.

In the course of his speech, Dahal also praised the Chinese development endeavors.

“We have lot to learn from Chinese development”, he also said.

Mr. Raj Shrestha's request has a sense. Coz Mao thought in China is a mixture of Marxism and Confucianism. See, what happened in Russian after fall of communism. Religion is thriving in Russia today. Communism could not kill religious sentiment. And it is possible that communism idea in the form of socialism can go together with religious thinking, as has happened in China. We see Prachanda and its followers participating in religious activities in Nepal. Let it be for genuine purpose.

Dear Prachanda, please take my advice seriously for the sake of our nation. Our nation needs unity now and we must find that basis for unity. Agreed, Nepal does need communism. We have to do away with capitalism. But please, do not opt for a sweeping change disregarding our history, culture and identity. You must know how important it is to preserve our tradition. Hinduism is our identity. Please do not play with it. Communism and hinduism can exist perfectly fine. I agree the poor people in Nepal need a change. That change is communism. But why play with our hindu heritage? Why ask for such a conflict? All will be well. Hindu kingdom + Communism. LEts make for a unique Nepal. His MAjesty should agree to same. This is the only change that will make for a peaceful NEpal.
