Nepal Ex-King Gyanendra accorded rousing welcome in Panauti

TGW

Nepal’s former sidelined Hindu Monarch Gyanendra Shah visited the ongoing Makar Mela in Panauti of Kavre district, February 9, 2010.

Security was tightened along the entire route expecting Maoists’ nuisances.

Shah, who drove his vehicle to Panauti landed there at around 11:00 PM, say reports.

People from nearby villages and from within the city thronged to see their former King.

A kilometer long procession by the side of the main street was observed awaiting his arrival with flowers and garlands in their hands.

He visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Sita, Mukteshwor, Brahmanayai and other temples and received Tika and blessings from the priests and extended financial support to all of them.

Gyanendra who looked in a cheerful mood offered support worth 1 Lakh each to the construction of Old Age home and establishment of an educational institution in the area.

Kantipur Daily dated February 9, 2010 writes, “the event reminded the observers of what happened in the past when he was the King”.

A celebration of sort prevailed there for all along the former King remained in the said area.

“People cheered…groups sang Bhajans…they were all seen united in welcoming the former King”, report adds.

“Raja Aaau Desh Bachau-Come King and Save the Country”, scuh slogans were also heard from the crowd.

“He tried to mingle with the people…he sometime shook his head, waived his hand and joined his palms to honor the elders”, reports add.

A woman who was standing by the street complained “Hajur…there is no peace in the country.”

Gyanendra Shah who stayed in Panauti for one and half hour prior he returned to the capital only said, “I wish there is justice and no one faced difficulties.”
The ex-King thus was hoping against hope.

only way to save Nepal from internal & external problem is to restore the monarchy. if nepali first vice presedent refuse to take oath in Nepali then what will happen for the forth coming ? these so called politicians do not love the country. all they want is power & money. they will sell the country. so king has to be back & rull the country with iron hand to bring back the wild goat population into the track. if Nepal become strong then we will have respect in india & every where else. or one day we will disappear. an advice from Darjeeling

We have a proverb- oralo lageko mriga-lai syal le pani khhedcha. But after seeing the warm respects shown by the people, it seems Gyanendra is still in the heart of the people. Whether he comes back or not that is another question, but no other so called leaders can beat his charisma and love by the people. This welcome in Panuati is genuine, from heart of the locals. Even the maoist did not wave black flag like they did to the President. This gesture by the people of Panauti should make these leaders to re-think about Gyanendra and Monarchy.

Monarchy is the Long-term Fate Of Independent Nepal. To expect independent, united and stable Nepal without the existence of Institution of Monarchy is nothing but a day-dream which has already been shown its pre-scene of coming days. All executive powers to people's elected represenativs and role of guardian, symbol of unity and honor to monarchy is the only way to save nation and its separate identity. Jay Nepal !

This is what people want. People want Monarchy to come back. We can see simply from the peoples reaction and respect to the Monarch. Is there any politicians for whom people of Nepal have such respect? No! Monarchy from Nepal has been removed by few terrorists, so it mnust be re-enstated. Before removing the Monarchy, there should have a referendum. CA election send CA members to make new constitution, but not to decide the faith of the country. So, that was not peoples mandate instead wish of some self centered, mad, traitors, corrupt, robber, unethical and coward politicians. Why 30 million people of Nepal should follow what 601 illiterate and stupid people has decided. Lets punish those traitors of our motherland and re-enstate Monarchy and establish peace and prosperity in the country.
