TGW

Demanding communal harmony and protesting against Ethnic model for Federalism, Brahmins in the District of Rupandehi, Jhapa and Morang came to the streets Friday February 26, 2010.

Thousands of Brahmins had gathered in Bhairawaha of Rupandehi and organized a protest rally.

Elderly men and women and youths took to the streets carrying placards, singing Hindu Bhajans.

And, after making a tour of the entire city arrived at the District Administration Office and submitted a memorandum to the President, Vice President and Prime Minister through the district head.

Similarly, in the districts of Jhapa and Morang, thousands of Hindus handed over a memorandum to the district heads. The rally was organized by Brahmin Sewa Samaj, Nepal.

The memorandum demands ensuring Nepal’s territorial integrity, declaring Cow as National Animal, protection of Hindu culture and tradition, drafting timely constitution and guaranteeing rights of Brahmins in the new Constitution.

Now it is the turn of the Brahmins. Others are likely to follow suit.

Do not attach religion to any caste and rise above casteism. Do not talk of your caste but talk of all Nepalese. Learn to filter the evil of the society. Be a NEPALI and not a Brahmin or Chhetri or Gurung or any other caste. Let all "NEPALI BE ONE"'. UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL. DOn't allow divide and rule policy to get in Nepal.
