HLPM not working as Nepal Parties impose party liking: Dr. Bhattarai
“I am not satisfied with the performance of the High Level Political Mechanism”, said Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai adding, “Since the leaders engaged in the body exhibit their imposing personal political preferences, it has not been able to function as per the need of the situation.”
Dr. Bhattarai, vice-chairman of the Unified Maoists’ Party made these remarks while addressing a program in Pokhara of Kaski District March 3, 2010.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Maoists’ Party chairman is also a member of the High level Mechanism headed by Koirala-the declared destructive political figure of Nepal.
“The main agenda of the High Level Mechanism should be the formation of a National Unity Government in order to get rid of all the political mess currently that have plagued the country”, Dr. Bhattarai said.
Dr. Bhattarai in the course of his speech also blamed the media for taking up issues that were against Nation, Nationalism, Democracy and Republican order.
“For some time I have been closely watching that Nepali media which has apparently remained against the institutionalization of nascent republican order, democracy, nation and nationalism”, lamented Dr. Bhattarai.
Dr. Bhattarai also said that the media in Nepal have not been impartial because a handful of affluent families have been controlling the bid media houses.
