Nepal Population fear of recurrence of a violent conflict: Gachhedar

TGW

The Chairman of the Madhesi Jandhikar Forum-Democratic, Mr. Bijaya Kumar Gachhedar has said that the incumbent government will continue caring little as to what the Nepal Maoists demand and cry.

“The government doesn’t run under some one’s personal whims but it is and should be guided by certain parliamentary procedures and norms”, said Gachhedar who is also the Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal.

Making a fiery speech in Bhaktapur, March 19, 2010, Nepal DPM Gachhedar challenged the Maoists to prove the majority at the CA body by adhering to parliamentary procedures and topple this government if the party of the ex-rebels can.

“Is the country the paternal property of the Maoists” Gachhedar questioned.

Gachhedar’s tirade against the Maoists has increased upon his fresh return from New Delhi pilgrimage.

He, however, did not spare the major parties and blamed that the parties have deviated from the main agenda of the draft of the new constitution but instead, laments Gachhedar, have kept them engaged in acts of power-booty distributions amongst themselves.

“The arithmetical game of making or breaking of government continues”, Gachhedar revealed.

“The people have begun fearing that the constitution could not be written on time looking at the manner the major parties have been exhibiting their greed and lust for power gains”, Gachhedar added.

According to Nepal DPM, anxiety prevails across the country considering what if the peace process and the constitution draft remained in a limbo?

“There is the fear among the majority of the population that the country may once again be pushed to a violent conflict and civil war”, Gachhedar concluded.
