No meaning to attend Nepal government talk meet: Upendra

The leaders of agitating Madhesi alliance have rejected attending an all-party meeting called by the government. Chairman Upendra Yadav of Federal Socialist Forum talking to the media said that the alliance leaders will not be taking part in the meeting called by Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli.

The Prime Minister has requested the parties in opposition and the ruling ones to attend the meeting which he hopes to resolve all disputed issues between the political parties.

Yadav declared that it was worthless for the alliance leaders to attend the meeting as the government has so far failed to create favorable atmosphere for talks.

Until the government fulfills all agreements reached between the agitating sides and the government, fulfills their demand to rewrite a new constitution and release cadres of the agitating parties from detention, the alliance will refrain from taking part in such meetings, he said.

There has been 36 rounds of talks in the past without result, he reminded and continued, we do not want to hold talks as its outcome is wide and clear to all, said Yadav.
