Honesty had become another identity for Nepali nationals”.

We feel proud of our history, and we feel proud of being Nepali citizens. The history of our brave ancestors, their struggle for integration of the Himalayan Kingdom for safeguarding Nepali religion, culture and tradition against the imperialist East India Company, and for shedding their blood to protect the Nepali identity makes proud to us.

Still today, Nepalis are identified as the brave people across the globe. Until yesteryears, we could feel proud of being the only Hindu Kingdom in the world. Our governance system was based on truth and justice and belief in our deities.

If anybody was suspected of committing a crime, he had to stand in front of the Kal Bhairab and speak about the reality. It was believed that those who lie would be punished by God. Therefore, people were afraid of speaking a lie. Honesty had become another identity for Nepali nationals.

Today, all the organs have been spoiled by the crooked and corrupt people. Loktantra has become synonymous with day-light loot and committing heinous crimes. Those who had committed heinous crimes and were involved in corruption have become the ruler of the day. Those who had to be punished for their crime are being rewarded.

Today, whether it is the Lalitaniwas land scam, 32 kg of gold smuggling or fake Bhutanese refugee scam or one quintal of gold smuggling scam, a powerful setting of the political leaders, high-ranking bureaucrats and smugglers have been found. The investigation team, under foreign pressure, opens the file but it is unable to reach the final conclusion as their own bosses are involved in such scams.

The Commission for Investigation on Abuse of Authority and other corruption-curbing agencies have become tigers without teeth as they are under powerful but corrupt political leaders.

When one quintal of gold was captured by the Revenue Investigation Department’s special team, the UML leaders are making hue and cry. They have even challenged the Maoist Center supremo and sitting Nepal Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal for initiating an investigation on the Maoist cantonment scam.

Indeed, none of them are clean.

When we talk about the corruption practices in Nepal, it also existed during the Panchayat days, however, the corruption deal was at the level of thousand rupees. When the country announced a referendum on the Panchayat system or a multiparty system, Surya Bahadur Thapa became the prime minister and the corruption practice was institutionalized. Nevertheless, except for some exceptions, ministers were having a clean image. Among the prime ministers, Kirtinidhi Bista, Lokendra Bahadur Chand and Marichman Singh were considered to be honest and clean political personalities.

Talking about national priorities, Matrika Prasad Koirala, B.P. Koirala, Tankaprasad Acharya, Kirtinidhi Bista, and Marichman Singh were the leaders who never bowed down in front of the Indian leaders against the national interests.

Tankaprasad Acharya had avoided the election of the constituent assembly after the 1951 democratic movement.

India was keen on the constituent assembly, nevertheless, Acharya believed that it was against the Nepali interests.
Lately, after the 12-point Delhi agreement, the Maoists in the “people’s movement” endorsed a comprehensive peace agreement with the government led by Girija Prasad Koirala.

In fact, it was the Maoist agenda for conducting constituent assembly elections in the interests of India. The Indian design was to destroy all the organs and make Nepal a failed nation.

Today, there is a scarcity of honesty among the people – whether they are journalists, academicians, businessmen, bureaucrats or political leaders – they all are used by foreign powers to perform their duty against the nation. There is a huge amount of investment of the foreign powers in them. They are foreign powers for their petty interests.

We don’t need to speak, the other day, it was explained about the “12 brothers” indicating those journalists who were serving foreign powers and misinforming the Nepali population. The same applies to many so-called academicians, businessmen, bureaucrats and political leaders.

Even after knowing the fact and foreign conspiracy against the nation, when the Nepali population has remained silent, it looks very odd. The serious question is that are we already been sold away? When a section of people are active in demolishing this historic nation, should we remain silent? Should we be ready for handing over this sovereign nation to a foreign power and remain as slaves in our own motherland?

If we allow those foreign puppets to rule the nation further, it won’t be a surprise if the foreign military will start marching in front of us.
